PvdA A'dam Campagne 2026

Client: PvdA Amsterdam
Year: 2026
For the municipal elections 2026 in Amsterdam we were asked by the PvdA (Social democratic labour party) to do the campaign again after the success of four years ago. This time we had to promote the team with a new lead candidate Sofyan Mbarki. Sofyan is a born Amsterdammer and alderman of sport and economics, He has a migrant background from parents with a Moroccan background. He is a man you can stand next to, a leader you like to follow and a great politician always willing to compromise. The runners up are two women Lian Heinhuis and Haweya Abdillahi. For the new campaign the focus was on people and places. Parts of the city that were build by the Reds for people that feel close to the community. The first step was showing we are all 'Amsterdammer' and that the party owns the foundation of the city for over eighty years. We started with a small teaser campaign with 'Amsterdammer' in several alphabets followed with key messages as typographical posters. From those posters we made signs which could be held by any candidate to make a portrait for personal campaigning. We finished the campaign with a group photo and used this as our key visual everybody could share.
In between the joy of campaigning there were a few moments we grabbed to make weird spin offs. For example the little skit showing Mbarki's past as a taxi driver by having him drive a Canta (a typical vehicle in the North side of Amsterdam) and picking up Labour celeb Hedi d'Ancona.
